Q&A
The unique viewing screen is designed to help those who use reading glasses to focus on the screen comfortably. Thanks to the recessed screen combined with a convex lens, the 3 inch wide viewing screen appears to be far wider as it both magnifies the details of your surroundings and reduces eye strain. If the image on the viewing screen appears fuzzy, adjust the manual focus to bring it into sharper focus.
This shows the battery life of the Ember on the screen. When fully charged the batteries will appear as full green battery symbols. As they deplete they will show lower power amounts and change colour from green to yellow, until both batteries are fully empty. The Ember has a very long battery life lasting approximately 5 and a half hours with the IR on and up to 16 hours with the IR off.
Yes, the Ember has an IP rating of IP54 meaning it is both dust and rain proof, so it can cope well with the great British weather.
You can switch between these three levels simply by pressing the OK button on the top of the Ember, and pressing the up and down arrow keys in order to adjust the brightness of the IR illumination, image exposure and screen backlight.
Yes, you can attach the Ember to any standard tripod via the mount hole on the underside of the device, so you can capture steadier videos for greater recording clarity.
There is a rubberised flap on the underside of the device which keeps the SD card and USB port covered. Simply plug the cable provided into a computer, laptop or compatible charging plug to charge the Ember's battery. When plugged in, the device will show a small red LED next to the charging port indicating that it is charging. The screen will illuminate when the device is plugged in - long press the power button to turn it off so that it can charge more quickly.
If the battery is fully depleted you may want to charge the device overnight in order to be sure to fully charge the device. Regular shorter charges will be fine to top up the battery if the icons on the screen are showing mostly full battery icons.
