Since launching the Nightfox Corsac in September, we’ve received amazing feedback about the unit’s ultrasensitive ambisight technology. One of the amazing things that some reviewers and testers have noticed is the ultrasensitive ambisight technology in the Corsac. The sensors are so sensitive that they often work well using ambient light and infrared. This means you can use the unit without even needing to activate the infrared beam. Check out this video from Andy’s Range where he discusses this fantastic feature:

Spotting without your IR LEDS can be really advantageous to Nightfox users. Firstly, it significantly reduces the drain on the battery power, making your night time adventure last that much longer. Secondly, it avoids emitting the visible red glow from the IR LEDS, which can alert others to your presence on those nights when you’d rather stay hidden. Finally, the range of digital night vision devices like the Nightfox Corsac is normally limited by the reflection of the IR light but, using ambisight, we have been able to spot objects at a range of up to 600 yards! This does require a small amount of ambient light, but we (and our customers) have been consistently amazed by the distances we can reach.

Here are some images, taken by Nightfox or sent in from the Nightfox community, so you can know what to expect when using the Corsac passively.
